Time Out says

Criminal waste of the delectable Lombard, once more playing second fiddle to Raft at his most repellently lounge lizardish in this follow-up to their inexplicably successful Bolero. Even the dances (again performed mostly by doubles) are shoddy this time round, while the fatuous plot oozes sluggishly to a climax in which Raft defies a supposed death threat from gangsters to go on stage and perform a dreary rumba routine.
