Time Out says
Odious Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, as fey and insipid as they come, too obviously modelled on Meet Me in St Louis (1944). The story's about the (non-) adventures of the Frake family at the Iowa State Fair. If you're a fan of the music, you may be able to overlook the general mawkishness, but it'll take an effort. Songs include 'Isn't It Kinda Fun' and the Oscar-winning 'It Might As Well Be Spring'. Henry King made an earlier version with Will Rogers and Janet Gaynor in 1933.Author: GM
