  • The list is ok in general, but lacks some movies like: Pet Sematary, The Exorcist III, Shutter (the thai version, of course), Alone and The Howling.

  • I'm so tired of seeing Exorcist top these lists. It just doesn't do it for me. I saw it as a kid when it was fairly new, it just moves so slowly. It has good moments, but it's no "The Thing" which I would have had higher. I know most people put Alien above it, but not me. Try watching Alien now, go ahead I'll wait....see? Now watch The Thing. It's better, trust me. And I know it's dumb to lobby for a remake to go higher than the original, but where the hell is the re-make of "Dawn of the Dead?" I have watched all of Romero's original films, I gotta say, Night of the Living Dead is the only good one. His Dawn is unwatchable. And "Day of the Dead?" Are you frigging kidding? That's a piece of garbage.

  • 1408, the only movie that has ever made me really terrified, the same with all my friends. Yes i have seen all of these ''old'' movies, but seriously they are just not scary anymore, they will not make you shiver of fear, while you are watching them, not anymore, not in this world we live in today, we see scarier things in the news, or in a bad new remake of some old movie. Perhaps, back in those times, this was terrifying, and would make you really scared almost to the brink of tears. Just not anymore. And well, 99% of all the new movies, have nothing, the same plot, almost the same things that happen in all of them, it is not really horror anymore, it is two or three times in a movie where you jump out of your seat, because the volume is so high and there is a crazy lady, man, child, or monster, in your face screaming. 1408. One of the only horror movie's that are still worth watching.

  • ...surely Childs Play? Not only that, but the subsequent follow ups moved horror fiction into reality. It took puppet/toy horror to the next stage. The judges appear to have judged their top 100 by artistic attributes, so might explain the dominance of pre 1970's films. Either that or they're all over 50 yo....

  • The main disappointments here, for me, were that films like Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and The Vanishing (Dutch) didn't place as well as films like Jaws (??) or Nightmare on Elm Street. The former are much more intelligent, and far more terrifying--although overall, this was a very fun list to go through.
