Time Out says

Cliché runs riot in this WWII yarn, where much ado about a bridge that nobody wants spells that old war-is-madness message trumpeted by The Bridge on the River Kwai. Segal, Gazzara and some fine camerawork by Stanley Cortez more or less save the day.
