Typical piece of liberal pleading from Kramer in which two escaped cons (Curtis and Poitier) go on the run manacled together in an oh-so-obvious metaphor for racial hatred. The suspense of the manhunt in the swamps never really overcomes the dead weight of Kramer's 'message', but pleasures are to be found in the supporting roles of McGraw and Chaney.Author: MA
