Time Out says

Booze-sodden ex-cop (Keach) has to dry out when ex-wife and daughter are kidnapped. For the most part, this flashy, hard-edged film sells itself to a TV audience by providing more nudity, sexual innuendo, strong language, and thumping violence than the small screen. Under the surface brashness, Apted's direction does attempt to think the film through, although his handling of certain episodes suggests too much sensitivity for the job in hand. Good performances.
