Try Dan & DeCarlo, facing East Finchley tube station. This place sells coffee the way it should be. Straight up, no fussing and with texture on a cappuccino that has you wanting another. Also i recommend the mini canoli's, yummy!!!!!!!

You fail to mention dates when you tested the coffee shops listed.
You do not list the coffee shops you actually visited.
You do not reveal your tasting/testing methodolgy.
Unfortunately the above renders your claim for the "definitive map of where to drink good coffee" arbitrary at best.

Have you tried Coffee Affair in SW8 at Queenstown Road Railway St?
They have been around for some time trying to cultivate coffee. Good following

There's a new extraordinary coffee bar near Trafalgar Square, on 31 St. Martins Lane, called Notes Music and Coffee. Next to Square Mile coffee, they have a variety of brewing methods, each to fit the carefully chosen beans, including the woodneck and syphon. A large well designed shop, with at the back racks with CD's and DVD's. Enjoy your coffee while listening to new Jazz albums.
The shop was recommended by Kaffeine, which (however the quality of Notes music and coffee) still remains my favorite shop for a beautiful double piccolo.

should have written a list of the worst coffee places too; I seem to have been to all of them - starbucks where coffee taste like a touch of winter soil mixed in cold water or costa coffee where attitude comes free at the one opposite the town hall at Kings cross and it tastes like they used the last persons left over beans to make yours - bitter and foul whilst nero is just as bad also at Kings cross - once but never again

happy coffee drinking anywhere but at the above

Thanks everyone for pointing out omissions - not sure why Flat White was missed out! Simon, yes Flat Cap is excellent and has now been added to the map. Anette, cheers, those errors have now been corrected.

I agree, a lot of these places are great - especially Monmouth, however I was surprised that Flat White has been overlooked..

Just a little correction, Kensington Sq Kitchen uses Monmouth not Square Mile, while Pavilion uses Square Mile, not Monmouth! :)

Flat Cap Coffee appears to have been overlooked, at least for inclusion in top 25.

Coffee cart at the north end of Strutton Ground, Victoria, and the only drinkable coffee I have found in Westminster environs.

Their ristretto is superior to Monmouth about 80% of the time. Yes Flat Cap do flat whites if that is your preference. Choice of two beans - one from Square Mile and one import from the continent.
