Time Out Live’s Alternative Eurovision

Our own extravaganza of glorious Europap wasn’t just a fab night out but a rare showcase of the cream of cabaret’s various overlapping sub-scenes. From Ophelia Bitz’s ‘Pope Idol’ and Dusty Limits’s note-perfect pastiche ballad to La JohnJoseph’s tribute to Cliff Richard and the LipSinkers’ Bucks Fizz moment – not to mention a corrective harangue from Hoyle – this was a show we were proud to call our own.
