I've been coming here for just over a year and have the smug satisfied feeling that I won't ever have to find or try another hair salon again! I usually have my hair cut and coloured by Emma, who always listens and I have been given exactly what I wanted at every visit. She cuts great Bettie bangs, curls and finishes hair beautifully and recently changed my colour for me and I love the results. The salon is a fab place to relax - lots of little touches to make it special and everyone is friendly, kind and funny. I'm a mum of 3 and not a super trendy Hoxton type but everyone is made to feel welcome here. I love that you can book on line and also that the price list is super clear on the website. Emma and Lucie are specialist vintage hair stylists and they clearly know, and are damn good at, their stuff! So for a vintage do, a brand new colour, or just a cut and blow dry, this is the place to come!

The Fran Lebowitz quote on the wall says: 'Violet will be a good colour for hair at just about the same time that brunette becomes a good colour for flowers.' Well, ladies and gents, that time has come. ReeRee Rockette's retro salon is stocked with a spectrum of hues, from tangerine to turquoise, ready to transform your boring barnet. Rockalily is a lovely little boudoir, furnished with beautiful vintage dressing tables and all sorts of retro knick-knacks, and the staff are cheery and chatty. It’s like a sleepover at Frenchie from ‘Grease’s house – if she hadn’t dropped out of beauty school. This place is more about fun and creativity than meticulous polish and perfection; go for Rockabilly looks, bold colours, Betty Page bangs, victory rolls, beehives and vintage up-dos.
