This is a deliberately kitsch new-build on a newly developed square. Suites are named after the heroines of psychedelic rock classics (Lucy, Lily and so on), there are classic discs on the walls, and you can kick your heels from the suspended Bubble Chair at reception. But, although occupants of the Lucy suite get a multi-person jacuzzi (with a great terrace view), and anyone can get sex toys from reception, the real draw isn’t the gimmicks – it’s well-designed rooms for competitive prices. The Brit food restaurant-bar is a bit hit-or-miss, but the hotel’s pretty staff are happy and helpful.
