Ashlee House
Ashlee House is a rare beast: a youth hostel with a bit of style. The funky lobby is decorated with London Underground wallpaper and sheepskin- covered sofas. Some of the bedrooms have brave colour schemes - shocking pink or olive green - and boldly striped duvets (red, orange and fuchsia). It’s also got all the handy hostel stuff - internet stations, a kitchen, luggage room, laundry - plus entertainment (TV room, table football). Unlike its rival, Generator (see below), the partying doesn’t seem quite so relentless - its oldest guest was 86 - which is probably due to the fact that there’s no curfew.
