The PR material has it: an inner-city sanctuary. This bolthole just off Regent Street is perfect for visiting film directors looking to be accommodated in a chic apartment at a reasonable long-term rate. Here they can shut the discreet brown front door, climb the stairs and flop into a home from home with all contemporary cons. Upgrades are on the way for the TV sets and toiletries, both now past their sell-by date of the late 1990s when the East-meets-West decor style was all the rage: bamboo floors and dark wood furniture mixed with sable throws and the obligatory crisp white sheets. Equally, the spacious kitchen cupboards and fridge are full of authentic vintage sweets and organic treats to satisfy most cravings and entertain guests. Many bring their partners and offspring. There’s no bar, but there’s the Patara, a decent Thai restaurant, on the ground floor. Room service will shop for you too – everything’s right on the doorstep.
