City Inn Westminster

There’s nothing particularly flashy about this new-build hotel, but if you were a sturdy spitter you could surely hit Tate Britain from the upper floors. The owners have wisely made art a theme, collaborating with the Chelsea College of Art to ensure there’s changing art through the lobbies and meeting rooms. The rooms too are well thought, with all the added extras (CD/DVD library, with players in the rooms, plus free broadband and flatscreen TVs) and service is charmingly efficient. On-site facilities include the impressive Millbank Lounge, with its vaunted 75 whiskies, and the less-convincing City Café, outside which you can sit on a Ron Arad chair on the covered Art Street. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, so river-facing suites on the 12th and 13th floors have superb night views – when the businessmen go home for the weekend you might grab one for as little as £125.

I recently went to the City Inn hotel with my girlfriend and we both agreed how beautiful the place is. The rooms have the latest IMacs and and was very reasonably priced. We also ate at the city cafe and thought the food was lovely.

As a business traveller I like the location of this hotel and "all the added extras" :-)
The City Café is indeed an issue as the quality of the food is as poor as the service.
