High Road House
This addition to Nick Jones’s Soho House group opened on Chiswick High Road in 2006, generously sparing west London’s media crowd the slog into W1. Unsurprisingly, it’s always packed, not least the terrace brasserie downstairs. Above it is a members’ bar and restaurant featuring a modern British menu composed by Steve Beadle, and above that, two floors of guest rooms, 14 in all. Ilse Crawford’s design cocoons guests in a white world of unadorned walls, digital technology and treats from teas to retro sweeties. All have ten-inch cabbage-head showers and white-tiled bathrooms with retro fittings, Cowshed products and some thoughtful ‘in case you forgot’ products. Food (in-room and out) is excellent, with service to match.

Whilst there are no specific times advertised on the menu of the day displayed outside this brasserie, one has to guess that it's only available until 7pm. Once we dared asking, we were then furnished with non-existing service for the rest of the meal. Either they took offence or the service is really non-existing. The comatose woman at the front desk should have taken the day off.
