easyHotel
First came easyJet, then easyCar and easyCruise… Since August 2005, entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou has applied his no-frills approach to this compact hotel for compact wallets, adding two further easyHotels in 2007, with plans for Luton and Heathrow locations in 2008 (the latter in competition with the new Yotel, Cheap ’n’ charming). The 34 rooms come in three sizes – small, really small and tiny – the last of which is the precise width of the bed. Forget cats, there’s not even room to swing a shoulder bag (and hardly anywhere to put one down). The rooms come with a bed, a pre-fab bathroom unit (toilet, sink and showerhead almost on top of the sink) and that’s it. There’s no wardrobe, no hairdryer, no lift and no breakfast, and you only get a window if you pay extra for it. Just one person mans reception 24 hours a day, and there are no services, food, entertainment or public areas. The rooms, which are bookable online only, start at an admittedly low £25 – but the prices vary according to demand, so book early or expect to pay an average rate of around £40-£50. To make a genuine saving, avoid such fripperies as TV (£5) and housekeeping (£10). Check-in and check-out are at a less than generous 3pm and 10am respectively.
Services
TV (£5 supplement)

Stayed here last night. Without exception, this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in - it was a complete rip-off and bad for the health (subterranean, stinking, airless room). Nothing would make it good value.
