This trendy boutique hotel is a softer, gentler version of its flashier alter ego, myhotel bloomsbury. It, too has lots of feng shui touches: an aquarium in the lobby, crystals and candles scattered just so. But the designers have toned down the oriental look and concocted what they call ‘traditional English meets Sex and the City’. Presumably, this is due to the Chelsea location: female shopaholics will appreciate the feminine colours - dusty pinks and purples - and lush fabrics, which include cashmere throws and velvet cushions. Rooms come with New Agey accessories - herbal wellness/hangover kits, say - and wireless internet access. Chill-out places include the Cape Cod-influenced bar and conservatory-style lounge.
