Hotel 167

It may be located in a Victorian townhouse, but this funky little hotel is no period clone. On the contrary, its decor is positively quirky. The lobby makes a bold statement, with its black and white tiled floor and striking abstract art. Upstairs, the bedrooms are an eclectic mix of traditional and arty: the odd antique piece or Victorian painting, with contemporary touches (Mexican bedspreads, Klee prints). The whole place has a whiff of bohemia (not to mention pot pourri), and its shambolic charm has inspired artists: it’s been the subject of a song (an unreleased track by the Manic Street Preachers) and a novel (Hotel 167 by Jane Solomons).

the place is ok but only the place I'd say... it's not clean (full of dust), the bathrooms are small, old and not nice. whe we arrived we didn't have the heating (inFebruary), no towels, no soap...there is no reception so the housekeepers are difficult to find... I do not reccomend at all.

It was not the best of starts to fly into London and arrive at Hotel 167at 11pm to find that only one of the two rooms we had booked was available. While the member of staff was ringing around hotels in the area for availability a friend saved our bacon by coming up with the use of his spare room. When our room was finally available the next day it was fine as it went and certainly good value given the discount that we negotiated, unfortunately in the early hours of our second night we were awoken by the loud complaints of a lady who it would seem was in the same position we had been in 2 nights earlier namely booked out
Hotel 167 is ok but really should sort out its booking system
