Pembridge Court
Not your typical townhouse hotel, the Pembridge Court has brought a bit of showbiz flair to the old English formula. The comfy bedrooms, done up in standard English chintz, are jazzed up by framed costumes on the wall: feather boas, Victorian fans, 1940s cigarette cases and glam vintage handbags. Theatrical touches attract theatrical people: rock stars like Iggy Pop regularly stay here. To cater for the musos, copies of Billboard magazine are scattered in the homely sitting room, where you can surf the internet or cuddle up to Churchill, the hotel’s resident ginger cat.
