The Sumner’s cool, deluxe looks have earned it many fans, not least in the hospitality industry – the hotel won gold in Visit London’s Best Small Hotel Awards in 2008, and had already scooped best London B&B of the Year from the AA. You won’t be at all surprised when you get here: from the soft dove and slatey greys of the lounge and halls you move up to glossily spacious accommodation with brilliant walk-in showers.
The breakfast room feels soft and sunny, with a lovely, delicate buttercup motif and vibrant Arne Jacobsen chairs to cheer you on your way to the museums, but the stylishly moody front sitting room is also a cosy gem.
