You only have to push through the front door and enter the breathtaking Lobby Bar to know that you're in for a treat. Despite the building's weighty history - the 1907 building was once the offices of the Morning Post - One Aldwych is a thoroughly modern place, with Frette linen, bathroom mini-TVs and an environmentally friendly loo-flushing system. Flowers and fruit are replenished daily and a card with the next day's weather forecast appears at turndown. The location is perfect for the West End theatres and has become a popular with attendees of London Fashion Week, particularly since many of the events are now held nearby in Somerset House. The three round corner suites are very romantic, and a cosy screening room, excellent spa and a downstairs swimming pool where soothing opera is played may dissuade you from ever stepping outside.
