Once people have discovered the Garden Court, they tend to keep coming back, says Edward Connolly, owner-manager of this long-established hotel, with quiet pride. There aren't many places this close to Hyde Park and Portobello Market that give such excellent value for money and impeccable service.
The rooms in this grand Victorian terrace have a bright, modern look and plenty of space, and the lounge, with its wood floor, leather-covered furniture, sprightly floral wallpaper and elegant mantelpiece is a lovely place to linger. As the name suggests, there's a small walled garden, lushly planted, and laden guests might be cheered by the presence of a lift.
