In a former MI5 research building, Sanctum is Soho club cool with its dark colours, bling room handles and deco lamps, sexed up with a handful of rotating beds and a no-questions-asked policy. The rooms follow one of four colour schemes, broadly deco or powder-puff boudoir in style, with plenty of mirrors and an unspeakable number of TV channels. The residents-only, 24hr-means-24hr bar is small but funky, opening on to a two-level terrace outside, which is topped off with a multi-person jacuzzi. The fun continues with a guitar-tuning service at reception, a smoothly run and darkly handsome bar-restaurant, louche art in each room and a screening room for hire downstairs.
