This idiosyncratic attic apartment is an absolute treat. High above the Troubadour, a 1960s counter-culture café that still hosts poetry and music events, it's unjustly named: yes, the rooms are in the attic and have charming pitched roofs, but there are acres of space for two - and even enough for a small family, if the kids sleep on the pull-out sofa in the lounge-kitchen.
The huge, high main bed lies under a skylight and there's a writing desk, but any thought of poetic torment is banished by the well-executed Arts & Crafts decor and fully equipped kitchen area, right down to the cafetière and wines.
