The Prince's Drawing School Foundation Masterclass Summer School

Taking place at the Prince's Drawing School's studios at Trinity Buoy Wharf and Chelsea, where the school will deliver a new one-year foundation course from September, this intensive summer course is for teens (age 16-19) thinking about heading to art school. The course is a chance to hone skills and build a portfolio for foundation or degree course application through drawing, painting and exhibition visits, with one-to-one tuition on offer. Week one (Jul 9-13) focuses on life drawing and looking at works in the National Gallery and Tate Britain. Week two (Jul 16-20) gives students the chance to draw and print at various Olympic sites, as well as along the river and at Docklands. In week three (Jul 23-27), the emphasis is on imagination and materials and bringing drawings to life. The intention is for students to progress from week to week but those unable to commit to the entire course may book individual weeks.
