Youth Music and Rough Trade are giving musicians aged 14 to 18 the chance to play at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
The competition is for five individual musicians in any genre who will be picked to form a new band and play live on the Left Field stage on June 29. Free seminars on DIY label culture are being run across the country, and subject to the success of the band and the quality of the song, Youth Music will publish the track as a single to be sold through Rough Trade. The competition is aimed at musicians who for geographical or sociological reasons have trouble meeting other musicians and forming a band. The closing date for entries is May 19.
