Spring fun at Kew Gardens (© RBG Kew)
If it's raining...
Go see a movie
Like 'Horton Hears A Who!', or the 'Spiderwick Chronicles' , or 'Drillbit Taylor' (if it's been raining for a while, and shows no sign of clearing up).
Take in a show
Little Angel Theatre's brilliant puppet show 'Jelly Bean Jack' finishes this month, or check out ZooNation's street dance take on Sondheim, 'Into the Hoods'.
Feature continues
Visit an exhibition
Some of the capital's biggest shows finish in the next few weeks, including the amazing China's Terracotta Army, Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the Space Age exhibition. Alternatively wow them with ten-stone rodents at the Grant Museum of Zoology.
If you do one thing...
At the Natural History Museum say goodbye to winter in the morning at the Ice Station Antarctica exhibition, which finishes April 20, have a spot of lunch, then welcome spring by entering the tropical paradise of the Amazing Butterflies show.
If it's sunny...
See some nature
Blooming flora and stately trees at Kew Gardens (also hosting a Spring Festival until April 20), wading birds and watery plant life at the London Wetland Centre, or extinct fauna in sculptural form at Crystal Palace Park.
Get active
Outdoor and sport activities for kids with plenty of disposable energy, including the brilliant Activ Camps.
Do a treasure hunt
While we wouldn't necessarily suggest our after-dark East End jaunt, our riverside and Docklands hunts are great for kids too, and, for the dads, the tour of literary Fitzrovia incorporates a lot of pubs.
If you do one thing...
See the London Marathon, which snakes across the capital from Greenwich, to Docklands to the West End. There's always a great atmosphere, and it's a good things to combine with a visit to a museum or attraction.
