  • To accompany Time Out's great London treasure hunt, here are some questions for kids at some of the capital's most popular attractions. Probably best not to try to do them all on one day

  • 1 Blackburn Pavilion Garden
    The Blackburn Pavilion Garden at London Zoo opens on March 21. There’s a clock outside the building – how many birds are on the front?

    2 Hackney City Farm
    Visit Hackney City Farm, where there are goats, chickens, donkeys and calves. Now find the British Saddleback pig – what two colours is it?

    3 Imperial War Museum
    In the ‘Children’s War’ exhibition at the Imperial War Museum is a 1940s house. Look at the wartime poster. What will ‘keep you healthy and help you to see in the blackout’?

    4 London Brass Rubbing Centre
    At the London Brass Rubbing Centre in the crypt at St Martin-in-the-Fields you can trace casts of historical characters. When was the present church completed?

    5 London Transport Museum
    The refurbed London Transport Museum boasts everything from steam trains to uniforms. When was the oldest railway engine in the museum built?

    I suggested last year that there was more to interest the kids - This does not cut it. It involves expensive entry costs for the Zoo and the Transport Museum at least, and appears to have no prize!!
