Queen's Jubilee parties

Posted: Mon May 28 2012

Whatever you think of the Queen, her Jubilee weekend is a great opportunity for a party.

In case it escaped your notice, this weekend marks the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Never ones to miss a trick, London's lesbian and gay club promoters are throwing some Jubilee-themed parties: believe us, never has the word 'queen' been more over-used in press releases. There are events for boys, girls, self-declared trannies and those who don't believe in traditional ideas like gender - or the monarchy.

Thursday May 31
David Hoyle's Pandregina
There's always one… Bucking the trend for slavish devotion to all things regal, acerbic performance artist David Hoyle presents Pandregina - a programme of 'entertainment' for the post-political, pre-apocalyptic age. Hoyle promises to take the concept of gender beyond all previous definitions, combining trans consciousness with cheap camp laughs, a fully licensed bar and toilet activities. Plus guests Ryan Styles and Eve Ferrett.
