A display of around 50 paintings to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941). Made between 1928 and 1939, the paintings, many of which have never before been displayed outside India, include figure and animal studies, as well as landscapes by Tagore, who is best known as a poet but was also a prolific composer (he wrote the national anthems for both India and Bangladesh), educator, social reformer, playwright, philosopher and painter.
