Japan Car: Designs for the crowded globe

A sideways look at the way in which Japan's spirit influences its car design from two industry outsiders – Kenya Hara, the man responsible for much of the success of Muji, and Shigeru Ban, the Japanese architect currently designing a new satellite gallery in Metz for Paris's Pompidou Centre. The exhibition, which features 14 unusual cars from the past decade – including concept cars and home-market models – plus a bonsai display, offers a glimpse into the possible future of global transport.
