Time Out says

Monthly adults-only late-night opening. As well as a programme of activities, gallery tours and music and a bar, there's child-free playtime in the interactive Launchpad gallery, which is usually too full of kids for adults to get a look in. This month's event features an opportunity to see the world's largest electrostatic Wimshurst machine in action as well as the chance to make your own snow.

I only recently heard about Science Museum Lates - basically the museum hold adult only events once a month, and it's free entry! The one I went to was on the 28th of October and the theme was 'Sex & Science'. It started at 6:45pm, but the queues went on for ages, so I'd suggest getting there earlier. The majority of the crowd seemed quite young early 20's/30's. There's a bar area and hot food is also served, the drinks were reasonably priced. I went with a group of 3 guys, and we decided to do the speed-dating event which was organised by xfactordates. I admit that I was nervous at the thought of dating in a science museum! However, I was pleasantly surprised, and although I didn't meet 'Mr Right', me & the boys had a great time. There was also an opportunity to get your grove on in the silent disco. Definitely up for doing it again next month, wonder what the theme will be...
