A host of nurseries take over a marquee at Hampton Court, and there will be a range of show gardens, including a series of gardens created to represent each of the six wives of Henry VIII, and a dedicated area with advice on planting to promote sustainability. There's also the chance to buy plants, especially at the final-day sale on Sunday, and gardening equipment from a number of stalls. Family activities designed to get kids gardening, including a Tudor themed scarecrow competition for schools, take place at the weekend (July 11-12). The first two days are reserved for RHS members, and tickets are valid for either the morning or the afternoon. For full details visit the website: www.rhs.org.uk/flowershows.
