Knights in armour thunder around the field, vying to impress Henry VIII, in a recreation of a Tudor jousting tournament -the first to take place in Hampton Court since the sixteetnth century. The weekend sees the palace transported back to Tudor times with costumed interpreters proffering cooking demonstrations in the recreated kitchens, period dancing lessons with the ladies of the court, storytelling, tricks performed by the king's fool and armour trying-on sessions.
Built in 1525 by Thomas Wolsey, who presented it to King Henry VIII, Hampton Court Palace is a mixture of Tudor and English baroque architecture....
