An 'Object in Focus' exhibition, turning the spotlight on a single item from the museum's collection, in this case an architectural scale model of Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre. An incredibly important religious site, many Christians believe the church stands over the place where Jesus was crucified and buried and where he rose from the dead. The model was made in Bethlehem, probably in the late seventeenth century, from olive and pistachio wood, and inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
