Until recently if you wanted to explore London by boat, you could expect a pretty sedate experience. Charlie Matheson's slick RIB (rigid inflatable boat) operation has changed all that. You can book by phone or online or turn up at Waterloo Millennium Pier on spec. Arrive 20 minutes before the off to be kitted out with a waterproof jacket (you're unlikely to get wet unless it's actually raining but you may be glad of the warmth) and a life jacket. Specially adapted steps with a handrail mean that boarding is very easy, making the trip suitable for all ages. The experience starts calmly enough, with a Thames Waterman providing a commentary about the bridges and buildings in central London. Then, once you're past Tower Bridge, the skipper of the 12-seater RIB opens up the engine and heads for Greenwich and you'll discover how exhilarating it can be to swoop along the Thames at almost 30 knots, leaving the lumbering traditional river cruisers far behind.

This is what a friend of mine wrote about me, and I'll take the easy way out of this task by copying and pasting: Let's say you decide to climb the...

AMAZING!! Went on hen voyage at the weekend, best thing ever in London!! Go with these guys they will have you laughing so hard your side hurts. The other boats looked bored!! Dave is a "funny guy"!! Joe is "hot"!
Thames Barrier trip is indeed breathtaking. Took my Dad for his birthday, what a laugh ... I will never forget what a great time we had together. Thank you to Charlie for taking my booking and making sure we were well looked after.
Went on yesterday and wow!! I want to go again and most definitely will. Thanks London RIB Voyages. Was a little apprehensive when I arrived and was the only person on my own, but from the moment I was welcomed with a cheery hello my nerves disappeared!! Skipper (Joseph?) was amazing!!
My friend organised a trip with these guys for my recent birthday. We had a really great trip on their boat, straight onto the London Eye and down to a (number of) bars along southbank straight after. The RIB team are so so friendly and our guide was very funny, we laughed out loud!!! It was certainly a birthday to remember..... Down point? - I now need to think of something really outstanding for her birthday to pay her back now!!
I took my boyfriend on one your trips as a surprise birthday present and little did I know that he'd actually found out about my "surprise" and organised to propose to me on the boat! Such a lovely romantic setting and something I will never forget. Thank you London RIB Voyages, this would have been an absolute blast even without the proposal and will be a long treasured memory.
A truly memorable experience with our 2 teenage sons who don't usually want to go anywhere with Mum & Dad. "Wicked" was the word on my mind, even though it's not usually in my vocabulary. I loved the speed, loved the views from the river, loved seeing people's envious faces, loved watching my sons smile. Haven't stopped telling everyone about it.
Went on "The Ultimate Ride" with London Rib on Saturday for my mates stag do. What a blast, I had never heard of this type of trip before but will be dropping (un)subtle hints for my stag do next year. We got dropped off down at Greenwich so finished the day with a good ole fashin bender! Brilliant. Our guide (Nick?) should be locked up!! (in a good way!!)
Fantastic and exhilerating ride! Highly recommended to all. Very well organised. Our Tour Guide was a scream and had us all in stitches. Great way to see the sights along the river and get the wind in your hair :0) will definately be going again.
Had a great time, this was my birthday present from my auntie, went really fast, was a bit scary but very good fun. I liked the man with the funny hair at the front who told me about London. Want to do it again!....... Jake (aged 3).
What a ride! Felt like Bond!.... James Bond! Would recommend it to anyone. The guide was an absolute loon - but informative! He does need a bit of a hair cut though! Thoroughly entertaining and a great way to see London from the river. Would do it again without hesitation. Thanks LRV.
I arranged a trip out with the London RIB team for my daughters hen party and selected a different drop off point for the girls to get off and have a lazy lunch by the river. The girls were over the moon and haven't stopped thanking me. They reported back that Sally was really spolit by the team who took the time to get to know her and the rest of the girls. A truly unforgettable experience. Keep up the good work London RIB.
I took my wife on a London RIB Voyages for our wedding anniversary, she was very impressed that a) I had remembered(!!) and b) I had found us such a unique experience to share together. I cannot believe so many people do not know about these guys, they are miles ahead of the other boat operators.
The James Bond experience certainly left our children shaken not stirred.... A very invigorating ride which the whole family enjoyed and something I would thoroughly recommend. All the staff and crew were fantastic. Well done and thank you.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and our guide/host Matthew was impeccable throughout, providing some interesting facts (which the children actually remember!) along with some very funny anecdotes. It was very invigorating and a lot of fun. I would recommend this to anyone visiting London. Great ride!
I went on the boat with my Mum ,Dad and baby sister. My sister was having a very nice time, she even fell asleep. I liked it most of all as i love going really fast.
