Time Out says

The Zoo, which covers 36 acres, is home to more than 600 animal species, many of which are endangered - your entry fee contributes to the Zoo's conservation projects across the globe. Regular events include an 'animals in action display' and keeper talks. There are plenty of cafés and picnic spots and the zoo offers educational and craft activities as well as an ongoing programme of exhibitions and events exploring science and conservation. Recent additions include a re-vamped penguin habitat, a new aviary, a new komodo dragon house and an extended meerkat family. The new permanent walk-through aviary makes it possible to see exotic birds - such as Scarlet Ibis, Abdim's Storks or Blue-bellied Rollers - close up in their natural environment. The Meet the Monkeys attraction allows visitors, guided by zoo staff, to walk through an enclosure that recreates the natural habitat of black-capped Bolivian squirrel monkeys. The Outback exhibit features wallabies and emus and illustrates how animals survive in conditions of harsh heat.
