Two concerts of Polish music in one packed evening. Start at St Giles Cripplegate, where the BBC Singers directed by Paul Brough present Polish choral works from Penderecki and Górecki. Audience members can then leg it across the courtyard to the Barbican Hall to catch the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Joshua Weilerstein playing Lutosławski’s folkloristic Concerto for Orchestra, plus Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 5 (‘Emperor’) with Jonathan Biss as soloist and the UK premiere of Christopher Rouse’s Edgar Allan Poe-inspired ‘Prospero’s Rooms’.
