You'll be forgiven for assuming that you've had a schooling in electronic music history from Bloc's lineup so far – Juan Atkins, Marshall Jefferson, Egyptian Lover... But return to the classroom, people, for the true master is still to come: Man Parrish. This dude did more to define the sound of electro and related styles than pretty much anyone else in the game, through timeless tracks like 'Hip Hop, Be Bop (Don't Stop)', regular Studio 54 shenanigans and extravagant shows around the Brooklyn underground. Even if they don't know it, a good proportion of dance producers over the last 30 years have been influenced by Parrish, directly or otherwise. Prepare for an explosion of electro-hip hop, classic house and techno and a damn danceable lesson in how to send London's dance community into a body-popping frenzy.
