Returning with a new album called 'Chrome Black Gold', Chrome Hoof are an out-of-this-world prog-funk-metal collective who came together in 2000 in London. They're astounding for technical virtuousity, sheer numbers (nine or more musicians on stage at any one time), spaced-out costumes including cult-like silver robes, and extended compositions that morph from electronica to heavy rock riffing to disco to complex funk in odd time signatures. Imagine Earth, Wind And Fire jamming with Funkadelic and Black Sabbath, add in shrieks and impressive moves by their two vocalists (including Shingai Shoniwa from Noisettes), and you've got an unmissable live experience. Highly, highly recommended.
