LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL: Roy Hargrove/BBC Big Band

Celebrated Dallas-born trumpeter who came to fame as a Wynton-esque neo-classicist but has moved into a variety of settings – from deep soul jazz with D'Angelo and Erykah Badu, to his own funk-hip hop band RH Factor. He's recently switched back to his funky hard bop roots so should be the perfect lead voice for the super slick BBC Big Band to create the ultimate brass-heavy jazz juggernaut.
