LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL: Portico Quartet + Suppanggah

Our fave post-jazz (now Mercury nominated) band headline with their energetic, highly melodic Hang-led (the UFO-shaped percussion instrument) music that organically combines modern jazz, Phillip Glass and cool drum 'n' bass to great effect. The percussion-led music theme kicks off with Indonesian gamelan (the multi-faceted gong/bells instrument) master Ruhaya Suppanggah performing solo and then later with PQ for a closing jam.
