LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL: Taksim Trio + Omar Klein

Turkish jazz-roots supergroup featuring clarinettist Hüsnü Senlendirici, lutist Ismail Tunçbilek and Aytaç Dogan, who plays the kunun, a type of guitar. Their Arabic improv combines dynamic interplay and evocative atmospherics to spine-tingling effect. Support from NY-based pianist Klein whose Middle Eastern, folk-flavoured jazz echoes the likes of Roberto Fonseca and Zoe Rahman.
