Heavy, dirty, distorted and generally fucked up avant garde funk, Hammond jazz and punky hip hop from this wonderful New York 'jam band' - an 'anti-jazz' trio with John Medeski on Hammond, clavinet, toy piano and assorted broken synths, Chris Wood on double bass and bass guitar, and Billy Martin on drums and assorted Afro-Latin percussion. Support comes from Downtown drum hipster John Hollenbeck and his heavy-grooving, intricately imaginative sax/vibes/drums-led five-piece, none of whom are called Claudia.
