Wolverhampton-born bassist, famously 'discovered' by Miles in Ronnie's - who later became Miles's regular on albums like 'In A Silent Way' and 'Bitches Brew', and later making key LPs with Chick Corea, Anthony Braxton, Steve Coleman and the ECM posse. Here he leads this muscular, top-drawer US quartet (including brilliant Brecker-ish tenorist Potter) that positively explode as a unit. Masterful multi-reedist DJB supports and premiers his new all-clarinet quintet.
