Stunning French saxophonist Imbert appears here for a night of incredibly dynamic trio jazz in a Franco-US trio with bassist Martin and drummer Cleaver. In the absence of a chordal instrument this sax/bass/drums aesthetic can sometimes sound austere but it's thanks to Imbert's fantastically inventive playing, attractive sound and phenomenal tonal control that there's never a dull moment, especially with this top flight rhythm section on board as well. Their recent 'N_Y Project' album is great too.
