Fierce sounds from Pete Wareham's punk-jazzers who started by playing jazz versions of songs by The Strokes and Hendrix. Last year's 'Last Chance Disco' moved them towards a muscular fusion of thrash metal and post-punk of their latest 'Skinny Grin' LP. Contrasting support comes from big-haired drummer Seb Rochford's FT project – a caustic mix of jazz, electronica, Henry Cow-ish prog and post-punk with shouty, deadpan singer Alice Grant. Challenging free-jazz keyboardist Barlow warms things up with his Zappa-esque band.
