Formerly known as Smog, Americana's 'laughing boy' Callahan – whose voice suggests a dredge working a frozen river for gravel at dawn – drops his pseudonym and plugs his solo album of last year, 'Woke On A Whaleheart'. Expect peculiarly male songs of human frailty, hope, disgust, love and lust sung in a deep grey timbre, with dashes of mordant wit.
