Fragile yet firmly rooted, deeply moving acoustic songcraft from Wisconsin's Justin Vernon as Bon Iver (the alias is a deliberate misspelling of the French for 'good winter'), whose divine debut album, 'For Emma, Forever Ago' (4AD) is a downbeat yet transcendent, entirely solo delight – all creaking and scraping, rootsy guitar and soulful/celestial multi-tracked vocals. In support, finely plucked tunes from the Glaswegian troubadour Campbell, whose songs boast titles like 'Burgers and Murders'.
