Eight months ago all it took was a bit of ‘F-word’ huff-and-puff from big bad wolf Cheryl Cole and the wild child’s mental state looked in serious danger of being blown down like a house of straw. Fast forward to today, and less than a month after suffering a miscarriage, she’s embarking upon her first foray into TV presenting. Who’s laughing now, eh Cheryl?

Social networking inspires the format, with the audience consisting of Allen’s online friends, and content including new bands selected from the internet, plus debates with viewers participating. It’s an interesting concept, but with the ads that the Beeb’s currently airing portraying the singer as though she has all the on-screen charisma of a lobotomy outpatient, it’s hard to know what to expect.
