Trombonist Wes was always the most jazz-inclined horn player in James Brown's legendary JBs (alongside alto Maceo Parker and tenor Pee Wee Ellis) and he mixes plenty of straightahead jazz into his exploratory funk solos. Pee Wee rejoins him alongside an Anglo-American rhythm section featuring bassist Mike Mondesir. Expect 'Pass the Peas' and all the faves in what's always a corking set.
